The second thing is to identify typical potential of contaminants in the area where the gas turbine is located. Depends to the environment, for example in industrial and coastal, air contaminants is dominated by very fine particle that will be impossible for conventional filter to remove. Pre filters and high efficiency filters will be utilized to maximize air quality supplied to the gas turbine compressor.

Air contaminant particles which is very fine will enter into the gas turbine compressor and resulted in rapid reduction of performance efficiency and finally the output power of the gas turbine will decrease significantly. If the turbine is operated continuously in poor air condition, fouling could enter the cooling passage and finally blockage will occurs. Blockage will cause increase the gas turbine heat rate and finally will over heat the wheel space. Over heating will cause serious damage to the gas turbine itself.
